Dear Lake Superior Elementary Community,

I hope you are enjoying spring break.

As you know, Mr. Hicks has announced his retirement for next year.  We have been working hard in recent weeks to attract and hire a new principal.  We had a fantastic applicant pool for the position of Lake Superior principal.  After much consideration, the hiring committee is excited to announce the new principal.  Mr. Rick Flaherty has accepted the position of Lake Superior principal and will begin on July 1, 2022.

Mr. Flaherty has a strong history in the Superior community.  Mr. Flaherty has been an elementary teacher, middle school principal, and is currently the SHS principal.  He looks forward to leading Lake Superior Elementary.  He will begin his transition to Lake Superior later this spring.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Mr. Flaherty to the Lake Superior Elementary community!
